One campaign slogan of a past presidential race was the appear for "a kinder, gentler America." "Kinder and Gentler" are still pressing needs--not only for the nation--but for our homes and the church as well. How do we begin?
Be A Bonus. We need to be assets rather than liabilities, a plus instead of minus. We need to be people who can be counted on the work together for good. "Only conduct yourselves in a manner worth of the gospel of Christ...striving together for the faith of the gospel," (Philippians 1:27).
Be a Blessing. We who have been richly blessed by God must, in turn, be a blessing to others. Jesus asked this searching question: "Should you not also have mercy...even as I had mercy on you?" (Matthew 18:33)
Be a Booster. We need to build each other up instead of tearing each other down. There is never a shortage of critics. Be an encourager, a supporter, emphasize the positive. "Therefore encourage one another, and build up one another..."(1 Thessalonians 5:11).
