Paul wrote in Eph. 3:3-6, "How that be revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I wrote before in a few words, by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets, that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the Gospel..."
The people who lived during Old Testament times did not understand that God intended for both Jews and Gentiles to come together in Christ. Statements were made buy they only became clear when the Holy Spirit revealed it in the Gospel age.
For example, the promise to Abraham included "all the families of the Earth". Gen 12:3. God's Messianic prophet wrote, "I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My Salvation to the ends of the Earth." (Isa. 49:6) All this began to be fulfilled in Acts 10, when Peter realized the Gospel was for Gentiles as well as Jews.
