Not much is said about the book of Philemon. It is a personal letter of Paul to an individual regarding a personal matter. Yet there are two passages that should attract our attention.
The first is Philemon 4, "Hearing of your love and faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus..." Philemon's faith was well known. How he expressed that faith is not stated, but however he showed his faith, people took notice.
The second passage is Philemon 5, "...that the sharing of your faith may become effective.? Philemon was trying to share his faith with others. Something every Christian needs to do. Paul hoped Philemon would be successful in this effort.
So, what about us? Are outsiders and other churches hearing about our faith? Is our stand for Christ calling souls to Him? Also, are we telling others the wonderful news about Jesus? May God help us to "walk by faith? (2 Cor. 5:7), so we can share that faith with others.
